Privacy PolicyTRAVEL REWARDS, INC. August 2006 Introduction. We at Travel Rewards, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation, (“TRI”), and sponsor of the Wyndham RewardsSM loyalty programme (the “Programme” or “Wyndham RewardsSM”) recognise the importance of protecting the privacy of personal data collected about individuals participating in our Wyndham RewardsSM Programme (“Members”). Examples of personal data are described in the section, “What is personal data?” We have adopted this Member Privacy Policy (“Policy”) to guide how we utilise Information about our Members. This Policy will evolve and change as we continue to study privacy issues. We do not own or operate any individual hotels operating under our brands, including Wyndham, Howard Johnson, Travelodge, Days Inn, Knights Inn, Super 8, AmeriHost, Wingate Inn, Ramada Inn, and Baymont Inn & Suites (hereafter “Brands”). This policy explains when and how we treat Personal Data provided to us by individual hotels.We have adopted this Customer Privacy Policy to guide how we utilise Personal Data about Customers, and how we maintain compliance with global privacy laws applicable to Personal Data that we collect from our Branded hotels and/or directly from our Customers, including laws passed pursuant to the EU Data Protection Directive (95/46/EC), the Privacy Act 1988 (Australia) and national privacy principles and similar laws within the Asia-Pacific and the Middle East regions with which we are bound to comply. “Personal Data” is any non-publicly available information or data about you that in itself, or as part of a unique combination of information, specifically recognises or authenticates you by unique identifiers, descriptors or attributes. Examples of individual specific (or Personally Identifiable) Data include, but are not limited to, names, telephone numbers, addresses, e-mail address, driver's license number, credit card type and number, bank account number, and/or other financial information customers may provide to us by any means, including through our websites, by e-mail, telephone, fax or post. This Policy will evolve and change as we continue to study privacy issues.
About This Policy. Our purpose in establishing this Policy is to advise you of the policies and information practices we follow in collecting, storing, using and disclosing Personal Data. This Policy is designed in a manner that recognises both the right of privacy of individuals with respect to their Personal Data and our need to collect, use or disclose such Personal Data for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate under the circumstances. Neither Travel Rewards Inc nor Wyndham Worldwide control the websites of individual hotels, which are owned and operated by independent franchisees of the Brands or managed by Wyndham Hotel Management, Inc., or its affiliate. Consent/Opt-In/Opt-Out. Except as otherwise permitted or required by law, we will not collect, use, or disclose your Personal Data without your consent. Generally, by providing us with your Personal Data, you are communicating your consent to our collection, use and disclosure of such information for the purposes for which you provided the information to us, and as described in this Policy. In addition, you will, at the point of collection of the Personal Data, and from time to time thereafter, be given the option of “opting in” to or “opting out” of our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data for certain other purposes by signing a form, ticking a box on a form, clicking on an icon (or via a similar electronic method) on our websites, or by contacting us as described below. If you do not want us to collect your Personal Data or use it for purposes other than as necessary to fulfil your request, please use the “opt out” option, or if so provided, do not select the “opt in” option, so that your information is not collected or used. If you have submitted Personal Data to us and wish to later opt out or withdraw your consent to its retention, use or disclosure, please contact us using the methods described below. You may opt out or withdraw your consent, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, at any time and on reasonable notice. Contacting Us. Individual hotels and our hotels will send to the Wyndham Worldwide Enterprise Data Warehouse, located in the United States, certain Personal Data collected in connection with your hotel stay, including the name, address, telephone number, e-mail address (if provided) and transaction detail (what goods and services were charged on the hotel bill and the method of payment) collected. |
